Creating an RFI

This guide provides step-by-step instructions on how to create a Request for Information (RFI) using BuildFlow. It covers navigating to the RFI creation page, entering the RFI details, uploading attachments, linking project documents, submitting the RFI, and annotating drawings. Creating a RFI from Log

1. Click "New RFI"

2. Click this text field to enter a Title for the RFI in the Log.

3. Click "Upload Attachments" to Upload and link files from your device as attachments.

Tip! If you initiate a New RFI from a document already in BuildFlow it is automatically attached.

4. Click "Browse for Files..." to open your File Explore and find your files or you can drag and drop you files in the attachment box.

5. Click here to remove all files uploaded.

6. Click "Done" when all files have been added.

7. Click here to enter your question.

8. Type "What color should Room 204 be? We have it listed as blue but the specifications says green."


9. Click "Submit" and the RFI be created with "NEW" status and the RFI Administrator will be notified.

10. Click here if you want to add a comment or suggest and answer.

11. Click "Change Workflow" to select the appropriate workflow for the RFI.

12. Click this dropdown.

13. Click "Change" to submit the new corrected workflow.

14. Click "Issue Question to Paint Workflow for Answer" to Issue the RFI to workflow and change the status to "Issued".

Tip! A new RFI can be initiated from 2 locations within the viewer.

Creating a RFI from a Markup

15. Click "Drawings & Specifications"

16. Click the Drawing or Specification you want to view.

17. Click "Annotate"

18. Markup your Drawing or Specification.

19. Click here to save you markup.

20. Click "Save"

21. Click the Pen image to view you markups.

22. Click "Add to RFI"
